Lagos WAEC Registration Fraud Allegation

Parents and students of Transfield College in the Wooden Onirin area of Lagos State have reportedly been thrown into confusion and distress following allegations surrounding the registration process for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

According to accounts from affected families, students were allegedly instructed to pay ₦80,000 each for WAEC registration through the school management. Reports suggest that more than 300 students made the payment with the expectation of being duly registered for the examination.

The situation reportedly came to public attention on the day of the examination when several students discovered that their names were missing from the official WAEC examination list. The discovery sparked panic among candidates and frustration among parents who believed the registration process had been completed.

Families involved in the matter have accused the school proprietor of allegedly absconding after collecting the examination fees. The incident has since generated outrage within the community, with many parents demanding answers and accountability over the missing registrations.

As concerns continue to grow, affected families are reportedly calling on relevant education authorities and law enforcement agencies to investigate the matter and ensure justice for the students whose academic plans may have been disrupted.

The allegations have also renewed conversations about transparency and accountability in private school administration, particularly regarding the handling of examination registration fees. Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the matter.
