Soldier Fired by Nigerian Army for Having Intercourse With a Colleague’s Wife 

According to reports, Abdullahi Ismail, a soldier in the Nigerian Army, was fired when it was determined that he had sex with his colleague’s wife.

The Lance Corporal was fired this week at 231 Battalion in Biu, Borno State, according to several sources.

The Nigerian Army dismissed the soldier for having an affair with the housewife of one of his colleagues. One of the sources stated, “We’re happy because this will serve as an example to others involved in this act now common in our barracks.”

The source went on to say that before being reported to army authorities, the terminated soldier had a well-known history of sexual misconduct.

Sections 79 and 93 of the Armed Forces Act CAP A20, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 are violated by his offence, which is indecent professional misconduct and having sex with the wife of a fellow soldier.

The statute stipulates a jail sentence and dishonourable discharge from active duty.

This occurs just a few days after two soldiers were fired by the Nigerian Army for stealing armoured wires from the Dangote Refinery in Lagos.
