Bandits Block Kaduna Road, Kill Resident and Abduct Several Others in Fresh Night Attack

Bandits terrorising Kaduna State on Thursday night carried out another deadly assault, killing one person and injuring several others.

The attack occurred in Ikara Local Government Area when the armed assailants blocked the Pala Sayasaya Road, trapping unsuspecting travellers. Residents reported that the gunmen fired sporadically, causing panic and chaos across the community.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers kidnapped several passersby riding motorcycles and whisked them away into the nearby forest. The bandits also reportedly stole more than ten motorcycles at gunpoint during the ambush.

Many of the injured victims were rushed to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Zaria and Ikara General Hospital for urgent medical attention.

This latest attack comes just days after bandits abducted six farmers working on their beans farm in Layin Danauta village, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area. The victims, who were said to be from the same family, were taken away on Monday evening.

Earlier, several traders travelling to the Layin Danauta market in Birnin Gwari were also kidnapped when bandits intercepted their vehicle at Kwanan Danwandara in Tabani Ward. The attackers abducted all occupants of the vehicle, along with two others on a motorcycle, and took them into the forest.

Residents of Kaduna State continue to live in fear as bandits intensify their assaults, carrying out attacks and abductions with alarming frequency and impunity.
