Bandits Kill Four Soldiers, Abduct About 70 Residents in Zamfara Attack

Suspected bandits have reportedly attacked Kasuwar Daji community in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing four soldiers, overrunning a military outpost and abducting about 70 residents.

According to reports, the attack occurred on Saturday night when heavily armed gunmen stormed the community and overpowered troops stationed at the military outpost.

The attackers reportedly killed four soldiers, injured several others, and set a military Hilux vehicle and soldiers’ accommodation on fire before reinforcements arrived from Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.

After attacking the military position, the gunmen allegedly invaded the community, abducting about 70 residents, mostly women and children, before looting several shops and fleeing the area.

The incident was disclosed by security analyst Bakatsine, who described the attack as another tragic reminder of the worsening insecurity facing rural communities in Zamfara State.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Nigerian Army nor the Zamfara State Government had issued an official statement on the reported attack
