Power Generation Rises as FG Targets Improved Electricity Supply

The Federal Government has announced an increase in electricity generation from 3,951MW to 4,300MW between late March and early April.

The improvement, according to officials, is linked to increased gas supply to thermal power plants and better coordination within the power sector.

Authorities noted that gas supply rose significantly during the period, helping boost operational efficiency and overall electricity output.

The government described the development as a sign of gradual recovery, though it acknowledged that challenges still remain.

To sustain the gains, a Gas-to-Power Monitoring Committee has been set up to address supply bottlenecks and improve coordination between stakeholders.

Officials say ongoing reforms and investments are expected to deliver more stable electricity supply in the coming weeks.
