Tinubu Urges Nigerians to Be Grateful Amid Rising Fuel Prices

President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to remain grateful despite rising fuel costs, noting that prices are still lower compared to some African countries like Kenya.

He made the remarks during a visit to Bayelsa State, where he inaugurated several projects, including a gas turbine plant, major roads, and a bridge.

Tinubu acknowledged that fuel prices are placing pressure on citizens but urged perspective, stressing that Nigeria’s situation is relatively better than in some neighbouring countries.

He assured Nigerians that the government will continue working to ease economic hardship, particularly for vulnerable groups.

The president also linked recent fuel price increases to global factors, including disruptions caused by tensions in the Middle East.

He noted that temporary relief in global supply has followed a short ceasefire, which may help stabilise fuel prices in the near term.
