INEC Rejects ADC Factions, Suspends Engagement

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced it will no longer accept correspondences from either faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), following a review of a Court of Appeal judgment delivered on March 12, 2026.

In a statement signed by Mohammed Kudu, Chairman of Information and Voter Education, the commission said it would also cease all engagement with both the David Mark-led group and the Rafiu Bala faction.

INEC added that it will not monitor any meetings, congresses, or conventions organised by either faction until the matter pending before the Federal High Court is resolved.

The commission further disclosed that it would remove the name of David Mark from its official portal as part of its decision.

The dispute stems from a legal challenge filed by Rafiu Bala, a former vice chairman of the party, who is contesting the legitimacy of the caretaker committee led by David Mark.
