The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has traced 41 properties to Abubakar Malami former attorney general of the federation and minister of justice.
According to TheCable the assets including hotels residential buildings lands schools and a printing press are located across Kebbi State Kano State and the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
The properties in Kebbi State are valued at ₦162195950000 those in Kano State at ₦16011800000 while properties in the FCT are valued at ₦34685000000 bringing the total estimated value to about ₦212 billion.
The federal government has also filed a 16 count charge bordering on money laundering against Malami and his son Abdulaziz Malami. Both are accused of committing offences contrary to Sections 15 18 and 21 of the Money Laundering Prevention and Prohibition Act.
