NNPCL Increases Petrol Price to N905 per Litre

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has increased the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at its retail outlets.

In areas such as Wuse Zone 6 and Zone 4, the new price now stands at N905 per litre, up from N890, representing a ₦15 or 1.7% increase.

President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Abubakar Maigandi, attributed the price hike to supply disruptions caused by the dispute between the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and Dangote Refinery.

He noted that independent marketers currently sell petrol between N885 and N895 per litre.

According to him, “The increase is due to PENGASSAN’s strike disruption. However, members still sell at N885 and N895 per litre.”

The disruption followed a two-day strike by PENGASSAN over the mass sacking of Nigerian workers at Dangote Refinery. The strike has since been suspended after the federal government’s intervention.
