Tinubu: Nigeria Is On Pace To Achieve Food Security

Before he leaves office, President Bola Tinubu stated on Thursday that he is determined to make Nigeria self-sufficient in food production.

During the groundbreaking ceremony for the 84-kilometer, N169.7 billion Bida-Minna Road in the Kakakpagi, Katch Local Government Area of Niger State, the President delivered a speech.

Tinubu, flanked by Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, pledged that the federal government would keep working with states that help their citizens thrive.

“There must be friendly relationships for governments at all levels to grow,” he stated. In order to guarantee that Niger experiences the intended prosperity, the Federal Government will assist it. Under my leadership, Nigeria’s food production will be self-sufficient.

“Building roads will save lives and open doors for more economic growth.”

Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and head of the Niger State Council of Traditional Authorities, was praised by the president for maintaining peace in his area.

“I am a son of Niger and I am a traditional title holder of Jagaba Borgu since approximately 20 years ago. I will be part of anything that will bring development to the people of the state,” stated Tinubu.

Governor Umaru Bago stated in his speech that the building of the Bida-Minna Road was a fulfilment of a pledge.

“As per our agreement with Nigerlites under the New Niger Agenda, today’s groundbreaking ceremony officially launches the 84-kilometer standard dual-carriageway project, complete with interchange, lamps, and other amenities.

The state of Michigan places great economic importance on this project. As a result, the historic event that we are seeing today represents a paradigm change from the customary lip services of the past.

This shows our dedication to constructing top-notch road infrastructure that will hold up over time and establish Niger as a model for infrastructure and socioeconomic growth in Nigeria.

“We are prepared to alter the unfavourable stories in keeping with our aspirational New Niger Agenda,” he declared.
