NAFDAC Closes ₦50 Million Illegal Alcohol Factory in Lagos

With the assistance of intelligence from the Nigerian Army’s 15 Field Engineering Regiment in Badagry, the enforcement officers of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) dismantled the operations of Mr Chinedu Okafor, an illegal drink manufacturer operating out of his home at No. 24, MTN Road, Badagry.

It was discovered that Mr. Okafor was arrested and turned over to NAFDAC agents at the Ports Inspection Directorate, Seme Border, after the Nigerian Army became suspicious of his actions.

Following an inspection, the cops closed down the unlawful factory by evacuating all supplies and machinery involved in the making of illicit drinks.

According to investigations, Mr. Okafor has been involved in this illegal operation for a long time, which may have endangered the Badagry area’s controlled alcohol supply.

In order to protect the public’s health, NAFDAC underlines the need of public awareness and calls on people to report any suspicious activity.

All violating products, valued at over fifty million naira (₦50,000,000), will be destroyed, and Mr. Okafor will face legal action.
