A man was detained on suspicion of defiling a minor inside a mosque lavatory.

A 40-year-old male worshipper named Abiola, also known as Aro, has been taken into custody by the Ogun State Police Command on charges of defiling a 14-year-old minor (name withheld) in the Olorunloba Mosque lavatory on Ondo Road in the Ijebu-Ode neighbourhood of Ogun State.

According to information exclusively obtained, the suspect had been a member of the mosque for more than 15 years before to Saturday’s incident.

Prior to having carnal knowledge of the girl, Aro violently removed the survivor’s pants and pinned her to the toilet wall, according to a police source who was aware of the report but wished to remain anonymous because he was not authorised to speak with the media.

According to a police report on the event corespondent was granted exclusive access to on Sunday, the survivor began to bleed profusely from her private parts as a result of what Aro did. She returned home to inform her guardian of the situation, and he transported her to a nearby general hospital so she could receive medical care.

According to state Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola, who also told correspondents that the case would be sent to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation, the suspect was jailed after his arrest.

The individual under arrest has been taken into custody on charges of defilement. After the preliminary inquiry is finished, he would be moved right away to the State CID in Abeokuta, according to a Sunday WhatsApp message from Odutola.
