David Adeleke a.k.a. Davido features in World Cup Soundtrack “Hayya Hayya”.
The Afrobeats star shared the news with fans via his Twitter handle, saying:
Pleased to have featured and worked on the official @fifaworldcup Qatar 2022 song with @redone @trinidad @aishaofcl ! Naija no make am but… NAIJA STILL MAKE AM! #fifaworldcupqatar2022“
Also, the Nigerian star featured alongside US star Trinidad Cardona and Qatari singer Aisha.
Davido’s fans on Twitter congratulated and celebrated him as the first Nigerian artiste featured in an official world cup soundtrack. They also rejoiced that this makes Nigeria part of the world cup, although their football team did not qualify.

FIFA, on its official Twitter handle, said that “Hayya Hayya” is the first single in the multi-song soundtrack for Qatar2022 world cup. They Tweeted: “Hayya Hayya (Better Together) is the first single of the multi-song #FIFAWorldCup Qatar 2022™ Official Soundtrack.”
FIFA’s choice of artists is intended to “connect with audiences worldwide through the shared passions of football and music”.
They also said on their official page “The entertainment strategy was conceived to create innovative and meaningful connections between football fans, music enthusiasts, players, artists, and the game and songs they all love.
The combination of breakthrough US star Trinidad Cardona, Afrobeats icon Davido and Qatari sensation Aisha captures the spirit of the FIFA World Cup™ and the FIFA Sound strategy by bringing together inspiration from across the globe.”
FIFA’s Chief Commercial Officer, Kay Madati, also said: “By bringing together voices from the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East, this song symbolises how music – and football – can unite the world.”
Furthermore, the singers will give a live performance of the song tonight at the final draws for the football tournament
