Neymar is the highest-paid player in French football ahead of Paris Saint-Germain team-mates Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe. The monthly wages of Ligue 1 stars have been revealed with PSG the best paid club as they boast 18 out of the top 20 highest earners.
The futures of Neymar and Messi are in question after they were booed by their own fans following their Champions League exit at the hands of Real Madrid. But any potential suitor for the pair will have to match their whopping salary in order to tempt them into departing Parc des Princes. In figures released by L’Equipe, Brazilian forward Neymar pockets an extraordinary £3.4MILLION-a month. His former Barcelona team-mate Messi takes home £2.8m every month, while Mbappe earns £1.85m every four weeks.
Les Parisiens centre-back Marquinhos and midfielder Marco Verratti complete the top five as they earn £1m each. Right-back Achraf Hakimi, who joined PSG from Inter Milan last summer, earns £903,000, with Keylor Navas [£834k] and Angel Di Maria [£792k] following behind. Completing the top ten are Georginio Wijnaldum and Gianluigi Donnarumma who take home £764k every month. Four more PSG players follow with Mauro Icardi [£667k], Sergio Ramos [£660k], Leandro Paredes [£626k] and Juan Bernat [£609k] all on fantastic wages.
Slotting in an No15 on the list – and the first non-PSG star to feature – is Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder who earns £542k. He pocks the same amount as Les Parisiens midfielder Ander Herrera, with Presnel Kimpembe [£534k] in 17th place. Ben Yedder’s Monaco team-mate Cesc Fabregas is next up as he earns £500k, with Julian Draxler [£469k] and Layvin Kurzawa [£417k] completing the top 20
