Super Eagles and Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze made the 10-man shortlist for the prestigious 2019 Kopa Trophy. According to list of nominees released by France Football on Monday night, October 21, the 20-year-old Chukwueze will be vying to be the best U21 player in global football.
The former Golden Eaglets ace, has done well in both club and country will battle the likes of Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior, Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi, Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt, Atlético de Madrid’s Joao Felix and four others. Paris Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappe emerged the inaugural winner of the award last year, seeing off Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic and AS Roma’s Justin Kluivert, a feat Chukwueze will be eyeing to replicate come December 2.
