The Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) has continued its violent campaign against Christian communities in northeastern Nigeria, with the latest attack involving the burning of a Christian village in Adamawa State.
A security expert, Brant Philip, disclosed the incident on Thursday, citing a viral video released by the terrorist group. According to Philip, ISWAP shared images of the village in flames alongside a statement declaring that Christians in Nigeria are “legitimate targets.” The group further claimed that Christians could “spare their blood” only by converting to Islam or paying the jizyah tax imposed by ISWAP.
Philip shared the details in a post on X, highlighting the growing threat to religious communities in the region.
The attack is widely perceived as retaliation for recent joint airstrikes carried out by the Nigerian and United States militaries against a terrorist enclave in Sokoto State.
Recall that five days ago, United States President Donald Trump announced that the US military had launched airstrikes targeting terrorists in Sokoto, Nigeria.
